The novel, A TIME TO…, by Ronald Louis Peterson, is a special look at life and the people God places there to help us as we grow in faith, hope, love and charity.
The story begins at the World Trade Center on 9/11. It takes Al Masterson, an employee caught in the disaster of that day, on a flash-back journey through his life. These show good people, people that hurt us, happy events and those events that change us. Al is caught in this dream-like trance not knowing why these events are the ones he is remembering. The story shows how we need to trust God and give life a chance to grow, to be the channel towards understanding and accepting God’s ways.
The story line is Al’s life. How he lived it and how his understanding of life as God would have us live. There are many interesting characters throughout the book. I feel if the beginning and end of the story, the tragedy of 9/11, were brought to the surface here and there throughout the story, it would have made the story more cohesive and built more suspense as to the ending.
It is an interesting book and takes the reader to many places that are part of our every day life, and it also takes you to unexpected places. It is an enjoyable book.
