Anabar’s Run is the first in a saga by Will Granger. It is the story of a young man, protected his whole life by two wonderful characters, who has reached the age of exploration. He wants to learn what the rest of the world is like; he wants the excitement of growing into a man.
The setting is picturesque, inviting and entices the reader into the adventure with Anabar. The characters are all well developed and fun to watch as they each play their role in assisting Anabar throughout the story. While written for the young, it is entertaining and fun for all ages. Though placed in a land unfamiliar to us, it is a land that can become real to the reader. The author has also developed a blog page for additional information, maps and pictures to enhance the story line.
Anabar learns the hardships in life if he is to succeed in what he wants to accomplish. He learns not only his new trade, but how to trust, to be cautious and not gullible, as youth can sometimes be. He learns to trust his instincts in making decisions.
This is an entertaining story and one perfect for young readers, as well as their parents and friends. I recommend a moment or two of adventuresome fantasy for all.
