As part of its mission to promote Catholic fiction in all its forms and introduce it to as wide a readership as possible, Idylls Press has set up this website to post news and reviews of Catholic fiction—novels, short story collections, and literary biography and criticism. We look at fiction in every genre, both classic and contemporary. We also occasionally review )from a Catholic point of view) novels which can in no way be considered Catholic, yet which deal with themes of interest to Catholics.

The reviews are organized by genre (category), author, and title to make finding reviews of specific books as easy as possible. Comments on the reviews are both welcome and free, though we ask our guests to register the first time. This both encourages a sense of community and helps prevent blog-spam, which has become a problem all over the internet. Idylls Press will not share your information with anyone.

We welcome comments and recommendations for books to review. We  are also always interested in hearing from Catholic writers interested in reviewing books for this website (please read our Reviewers’ Guidelines first).
